Position Overview
SI is seeking an experienced WASH Coordinator to lead and strengthen its WASH strategy and programming across Sudan. The successful candidate will ensure the quality, relevance, and impact of WASH interventions while contributing to strategic planning, technical leadership, donor engagement, and humanitarian coordination.
The position is based in N’Djamena, Chad, with regular visits to operational bases in Sudan, including Darfur and other newly accessible areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement SI’s WASH strategy for Sudan.
- Ensure technical quality and relevance of WASH interventions.
- Coordinate and monitor WASH program implementation across multiple locations.
- Support proposal development, reporting, and donor engagement.
- Provide technical guidance to field teams and partners.
- Work closely with WASH Clusters and humanitarian coordination mechanisms.
- Lead assessments and support expansion into new operational areas.
- Contribute to knowledge management, capitalization, and improvement of SI methodologies.
Priority Objectives (First 2–3 Months)
- Support East Darfur and Kordofan expansion initiatives.
- Review and strengthen WASH strategies for Central and South Darfur.
- Provide technical support for proposals and donor reporting.
- Strengthen coordination and technical oversight across WASH programs.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Country WASH Coordinator or in a similar senior WASH leadership role.
- Previous experience with Solidarités International is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian coordination systems.
- Knowledge of Sphere Standards and humanitarian technical indicators.
- Strong expertise in:
- Faecal Sludge Management (FSM)
- Solid Waste Management (SWM)
- Water Resource Management (WRM)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- High level of autonomy and proactivity.

Salary & Benefits
- Starting salary from EUR 2,860 gross/month
- EUR 2,600 base salary
- 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly
- Monthly Per Diem: USD 750
- Accommodation fully covered by SI

- 7 working days off every 3 months

Security & Working Conditions
The coordination office is located in N’Djamena, Chad, where living conditions include reliable accommodation, electricity, and internet access.
Field missions to Sudan may involve travel to highly volatile and insecure environments. The role requires strict adherence to security protocols, strong resilience, flexibility, and the ability to work in challenging conditions with limited amenities.
