Job Overview
World Vision is seeking an Education Officer (Education in Emergencies) to support the design, implementation, and monitoring of education programmes for children affected by crisis.
The role focuses on providing safe and inclusive learning opportunities while improving access, attendance, retention, and learning outcomes. The position will also support child protection, teacher training, community engagement, and local partner capacity building.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Education in Emergencies (EiE) activities, including school rehabilitation and accelerated learning programmes.
- Support teacher training, psychosocial support, life skills, and inclusive education.
- Distribute teaching and learning materials and school supplies.
- Monitor enrolment, attendance, retention, and learning outcomes.
- Strengthen child protection and referral systems.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers, schools, and local partners.
- Coordinate with education authorities, Education Cluster, schools, PTAs, and communities.
- Conduct monitoring visits and support assessments.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
- Maintain programme data and document lessons learned and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Planning & Management, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
- 3–5 years of experience in education programming, preferably humanitarian or emergency contexts.
- Experience with Education in Emergencies, accelerated learning, psychosocial support, remedial education, and protection.
- Knowledge of INEE Minimum Standards and education coordination systems.
- Strong monitoring, reporting, and data management skills.
- Fluent English and Arabic.
- Ability to work in challenging and insecure environments and travel to crisis-affected areas.
