Job Purpose
The Grants, Partnerships & Business Development Coordinator leads the country office’s partnership and donor engagement strategy. The role ensures strong grant management, donor compliance, partner coordination, business development, and donor accountability while supporting strategic growth of the mission portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor donor and partnership strategies
- Manage donor relations and external representation
- Identify funding opportunities and support business development
- Lead proposal development, reporting, and contractual compliance
- Coordinate grant management across departments
- Strengthen partnership management systems
- Support implementing partner management and capacity building
- Provide strategic advice to the Country Director
Main Challenges
- Remote management from Chad with operations in Sudan
- Coordination with donors based in Nairobi, Port Sudan, and Addis Ababa
- Institutionalizing partnership management systems
- Managing a high workload in a complex humanitarian context
Priority Objectives (First 2–3 Months)
- Diversify the donor portfolio and contribute to the 2027 strategy
- Build the capacity of the Grant Manager, RCO, and Partnership Manager
- Strengthen and formalize partnership management processes
Requirements
Education
- Master’s degree in International Relations, Program Management, or a related field
Experience
- 3–4 years of humanitarian sector experience
- 3–4 years in a similar coordination role
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of BHA, ECHO, UN donors, and consortium management
- Proposal development, donor reporting, and contract management
- Partnership management experience
- Team management and capacity building skills
Languages
- Fluent English (required)
- Arabic (advantage)
- French (asset)
Living Conditions
The position is based in N’Djamena, with accommodation in a shared apartment offering reliable electricity and internet. Darfur field locations provide good-standard guesthouses, though social activities and services are more limited.
