Position Overview
The Grants, Partnerships & Business Development Coordinator is responsible for developing and monitoring partnership and funding strategies for the country office. The position ensures effective coordination of grants management, donor relations, partnership development, external compliance, and donor accountability.
The Coordinator identifies funding opportunities, monitors donor strategies, supports business development, and advises senior management on portfolio growth and strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Grants & Business Development
- Monitor donor funding opportunities and trends.
- Support proposal development and donor engagement.
- Strengthen SI’s funding portfolio and diversification strategy.
- Advise the Country Director on strategic business development opportunities.
Partnership Management
- Develop and strengthen partnership systems and processes.
- Support local partner engagement and capacity development.
- Ensure effective coordination with implementing partners.
Donor Relations & Compliance
- Maintain relationships with donors and consortium partners.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and contractual obligations.
- Support reporting and accountability requirements.
Team Support & Capacity Building
- Build the capacity of Grants, Reporting, and Partnership staff.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship.
- Promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
Main Challenges
- Remote management from Chad while supporting operations in Sudan.
- Managing a high workload across multiple grants and partnerships.
- Strengthening newly established partnership systems.
- Coordinating with donors located in Nairobi, Port Sudan, and Addis Ababa.
Requirements
Education
- Master’s Degree in International Relations, Program Management, or a related field.
Experience
- 3–4 years of humanitarian sector experience.
- 3–4 years in a similar grants, partnerships, or business development role.
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with BHA, ECHO, UN agencies, and consortium management.
- Proposal development and donor reporting expertise.
- Contractual management experience.
- Partnership management experience.
- Team leadership and capacity-building skills.
Core Competencies
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Adaptability and flexibility.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
Languages
- Fluent English (required).
- Arabic (advantageous).
- French (an asset).
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Package
- EUR 2,860 gross per month (depending on experience).
- EUR 2,600 base salary.
- 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly.
- USD 750 monthly per diem.

In N’Djamena, staff live in a shared apartment with reliable electricity and internet access. The city offers various leisure activities, restaurants, and a large expatriate community.
In Darfur, accommodation is provided in secure guesthouses with running water and solar-powered electricity. Access to local markets is available, though recreational options are limited.
