Logistics Manager

Position Overview

The Logistician is responsible for managing logistics operations at the base level in compliance with SI and donor procedures. The role ensures effective supply chain management, procurement, transport, storage, and overall logistical support for program implementation.

The position also supports security procedures, staff capacity building, and base expansion activities.


Key Responsibilities

Logistics Management

  • Oversee logistics operations at base level
  • Manage procurement, supply chain, and storage systems
  • Ensure compliance with SI and donor regulations

Program Support

  • Provide logistical support to all program activities
  • Coordinate with program teams for operational needs
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services

Team & Capacity Building

  • Train and supervise logistics staff
  • Strengthen local staff capacity
  • Support performance management of logistics team

Security Support

  • Assist Field Coordinator in implementing security rules
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures in high-risk environment

Base Development

  • Support expansion of guesthouse and office infrastructure
  • Contribute to scaling operations in line with growth

Main Challenges

  • Rapid expansion of field operations
  • Capacity building of local logistics teams
  • Managing base infrastructure and accommodation expansion

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, logistics, international relations, or related field

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in humanitarian NGO settings
  • At least 2 years in a similar logistics position

Technical Skills

  • Procurement and supply chain management in conflict settings
  • Experience in base scale-up in volatile environments
  • Strong team management and capacity building skills

Core Competencies

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong adaptability
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills

Languages

  • Fluent English (required)
  • Arabic (strong asset)

Compensation & Benefits

  • EUR 2,310 gross/month (EUR 2,100 base + 10% annual leave allowance)
  • USD 750 monthly per diem
  • Accommodation fully provided
  • International travel covered
  • Comprehensive insurance (medical, repatriation, war-risk coverage)
  • R&R system: 7 working days every 3 months + USD 850 allowance
  • 1 additional rest day per month worked

Living Conditions

Accommodation is provided in a guesthouse with basic but functional facilities, including private rooms, running water, and backup electricity.

Internet is available via satellite in office and guesthouse. Social life is limited due to security constraints, with curfew typically from 6pm.
