Meal & Reporting Coordinator

Job Profile

The MEAL & Reporting Coordinator will provide strategic leadership for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning (MEAL), advocacy, and communications in Sudan. The role ensures that program data, protection analysis, and operational evidence are effectively used to influence policy, funding decisions, and humanitarian responses at national and international levels.

The position also strengthens NP’s external visibility while ensuring evidence-based and risk-informed programming.


Key Responsibilities

1. MEAL Strategy & System Design

  • Develop and implement the country MEAL strategy
  • Design and manage MEAL systems aligned with NP and donor requirements
  • Oversee data collection, surveys, and impact assessments
  • Ensure integration of gender, accountability, and conflict sensitivity
  • Develop MEAL tools, indicators, and reporting frameworks

2. MEAL Implementation & Management

  • Coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities across projects
  • Ensure data quality, analysis, and reporting
  • Support programme teams and implementing partners (IPs)
  • Conduct evaluations and performance reviews
  • Provide technical MEAL support and training

3. Capacity Building

  • Train staff and partners on MEAL tools and systems
  • Conduct MEAL capacity assessments for IPs
  • Strengthen accountability and feedback mechanisms

4. Reporting & Documentation

  • Lead MEAL reporting and documentation of lessons learned
  • Support proposal writing with MEAL data and indicators
  • Maintain structured databases and records

5. Data Quality Assurance

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data
  • Monitor programme performance indicators
  • Support corrective actions based on data findings

6. Networking & Representation

  • Represent NP in coordination meetings and forums
  • Strengthen stakeholder relationships
  • Promote visibility of NP work in Sudan

7. Staff Management

  • Supervise MEAL officers and field staff
  • Provide mentoring, performance management, and training
  • Ensure staff security and wellbeing in field operations

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree + 5 years experience OR Bachelor’s degree + 7 years experience
  • Proven experience in MEAL systems in humanitarian/development settings
  • Strong data analysis, reporting, and evaluation skills
  • Experience managing teams and budgets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data tools
