Position Summary
The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for overseeing procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, fleet operations, and asset management for IRC’s Darfur program. The role ensures efficient supply chain operations while maintaining compliance with IRC policies, donor regulations, and humanitarian standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Planning
- Develop procurement, transportation, warehousing, and staffing plans.
- Support program implementation through effective supply chain management.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure supply chain capacity-building and staff development.
Procurement Management
- Lead procurement activities in compliance with IRC and donor requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships and procurement contracts.
- Conduct market assessments and supplier evaluations.
- Monitor procurement performance and identify compliance risks.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Oversee warehouse operations and inventory controls.
- Conduct regular inventory reviews and spot checks.
- Ensure accurate inventory reporting and record keeping.
- Maintain compliance with medical inventory standards where applicable.
Asset Management
- Manage organizational assets and equipment.
- Ensure asset tracking, maintenance, and documentation.
- Coordinate asset disposal and replacement planning.
Fleet Management
- Oversee vehicle operations, maintenance, and utilization.
- Monitor fuel consumption and fleet efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with IRC vehicle management policies.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor supply chain staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and capacity-building activities.
- Promote staff well-being and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive supply chain experience.
- Strong experience in procurement, logistics, inventory, and fleet management.
- Experience with humanitarian or NGO operations preferred.
- Knowledge of medical logistics and pharmaceutical supply chains is an advantage.
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical abilities.
- Fluency in English required.
- Arabic or French language skills are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to remote field locations.
Working Environment
This position is based in Sudan, where security conditions can be challenging. Candidates must be comfortable working in complex humanitarian environments and comply with all IRC security procedures.
