NPSD Team Leader

Position Summary

The Team Leader is responsible for managing field operations, leading protection programming, supervising staff, and ensuring effective project implementation. The role involves coordination with government authorities, humanitarian partners, donors, and local communities while overseeing program quality, reporting, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Management

• Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of protection activities.
• Manage and support field teams in delivering civilian protection programming.
• Develop innovative project ideas and contribute to proposal development.
• Coordinate emergency response activities when required.
• Conduct conflict analysis and security monitoring.

Monitoring & Reporting

• Ensure timely and accurate weekly, monthly, and donor reports.
• Monitor project progress and quality standards.
• Lead lesson-learning and project review exercises.

Team Leadership

• Supervise national and international staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development.
• Maintain a positive and productive working environment.

Financial Oversight

• Monitor project expenditures and budget utilization.
• Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies.

Security & Operations

• Support staff safety and security management.
• Coordinate logistics, procurement, and administrative processes.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• University degree in Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law, Refugee Law, Human Security, Mediation, Negotiation, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civilian protection, refugee protection, human security, or related sectors.
• Experience managing teams in complex security environments.
• Strong understanding of Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP).
• Experience working with government authorities and humanitarian actors.
• Excellent conflict analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Strong English communication and report-writing skills.
• Arabic language skills are highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in Sudan or Darfur.
• Experience working in remote and high-risk environments.
• Knowledge of humanitarian coordination mechanisms.
